DAC9 - General Description

The Datavideo DAC-9 is a tripod mounted format converter that enables users to convert the HDMI output from a pro camera to broadcast quality HD-SDI or SD-SDI with embedded audio. The DAC-9 enables HD-SDI connection to Datavideo's SE-1000 Vision Mixer or SD-SDI connection to Datavideo’s SE-900 Vision Mixer.The DAC-9 can accommodate two channels of audio input via RCA and embed them both in the SDI signal, requiring only one cable for both video and audio transmission.The DAC-9 is extremely portable and includes Velcro straps on the back to easily attach it to a tripod leg. A 12V DC power adapter is also included.

Many new High Definition camcorders and devices provide HDMI as the only High Definition output option. Datavideo’s DAC-9 allows users to connect HDMI devices to broadcast SDI equipment, like video switchers or recorders up to 200 meters away. HDMI is not suitable for long cable runs, but using a Datavideo DAC-9, users can convert HDMI to high definition and standard definition SDI and take advantage of the high quality and affordable connectivity that SDI cables offer.
