The Panasonic HVX202 P2 miniCam combines a progressive native 16:9
HD 3CCD imaging system with a HD quality Leica Dicomar wide-angle zoom lens
in a camera recorder. This new HVX202 P2miniCam provides 1080i/720p HD recording
with the production-proven image quality of DVCPRO HD compression (video
bit rate: 100 Mbps). The DVCPRO HD codec uses optimal intraframe compression;
each frame stands on its own. Also able to record Standard Definition in
the DVCPRO50, DVCPRO and DV formats, the AG-HVX202 supports migration from
the entire DVCPRO family of equipment to the total IT experience. All 1080,
720 and 576 signals support 50 Hertz frame rates in progressive mode!
The Panasonic HVX202 debuts as the first camera-recorder featuring the
P2 (professional plug-in) card, developed by Panasonic as a recording memory
for professional systems. Because the core P2 products use no drive mechanisms,
they provide superior resistance to impact, vibration and temperature change.
The HVX202 inherits many of the functions of the popular AJ HDC27,variable
frame rate camera-recorder, which enhanced the production of movies and
TV programs. The HVX202's variable frame rate function responds to both
slow and quick action. Its true 25p/50p progressive video, cine-like gamma
curves and cinelike colour matrix capture images and scenes with the same
look and feel as footage from a film camera. All controls and system interfaces
are designed to meet professional needs.
The Panasonic HVX202's small size makes it the perfect camera-recorder
for many of the shoots where it becomes prohibitive for an AJ-HDC27 variable
frame rate camera-recorder or an AJ-SDX900 to be placed. And it offers the
built-in flexibility that has never been seen by the production industry.
