The BlueFish444 Epoch 4K Supernova is a 185mm PCIe I/O card with 4 bi-directional 3G/HD/SD-SDI and ASI BNC connectors. A fifth BNC supports multi-format input of bi/tri-level analog genlock, SDI, ASI, AES/EBU, and LTC. 4x 1D x 12-bit LUTs are incorporated on all SDI outputs, and a sixth BNC for an SDI-Out copy of BNC 2. The card supports formats from [email protected] NTSC/50 PAL to 4K DCI 4:4:4 RGB 8/10 bit. It captures/outputs single-link 4:2:2 and dual-link 4:4:4, 4:4:4:4, 4:2:2:4. Epoch 4K Supernova features 256MB of on-board memory.
Included with Epoch 4K Supernova S+ is BlueFish444's 3D and DI acquisition, review, and playback software for Windows called Symmetry. Symmetry captures Cineon, DPX, Targa, QuickTime, and AVI files and allows footage to be used on multiple applications across multiple platforms, eliminating the need to re-render between tools. Symmetry dispenses loss issues associated with color conversion by providing a choice of color spaces from 8-bit YUV up to 16 bit RGB. Features include 3D stereoscopic capture, side-by-side, 3D playback, and new format integration including 4K and 2K R3D RED files.
Flexible SDK
Epoch 4K Supernova supports Windows API C++, DirectShow Filters API, Mac OS X QuickTime API, and Linux API. The Windows, Linux, and Mac OSX SDKs share a common API allowing developers to port from one platform to another with greater efficiency. An extensive set of samples and interfaces are available from BlueFish444 to facilitate integration with developer applications.
Symmetry 3D and DI Software
Symmetry is Bluefish444's 3D and DI acquisition, review, and playback software for Windows included free with the Epoch 4K Supernova. It captures Cineon, DPX, Targa, QuickTime, and AVI files, allowing the use of footage on multiple applications across multiple platforms, eliminating the need to re-render between tools. Avid Compatibility
Avid has created the 'Open IO' open plug-in architecture that enables Epoch 4K Supernova to input and output full resolution HD-SDI video using the Avid Media Composer family of software.
Adobe Creative Cloud Compatibility
Adobe has launched a new plug-in architecture called 'Adobe Mercury Transmit' which, when combined with Epoch 4K Supernova, enables up to 4K, 60p playback of the industry's most widely used formats.
ASSIMILATE SCRATCH Compatibility
Bluefish444 has partnered with ASSIMILATE to develop a freely available 12 bit and 2K SDI plug-in to enable SCRATCH and SCRATCH Lab users to preview their 2K and 3D stereoscopic workflows in 12 bit. Bluefish444 has also developed a freely available 3G-SDI 8/10 bit YUV/RGB 4K plug-in to SCRATCH & SCRATCH Lab.
